BMWs are one of my favorite car brands in driving due to their sportiness, speed, and sheer driving pleasure.
But there’s one thing that can make any BMW stand out: mods! Whether it’s a simple set of wheels, a body kit, or even a new engine system, there are plenty of ways to make your car look better and faster than ever before.
In this article, I will share the top modifications for your BMW X5 whether you have the older generation(e70) previous generation (f15), or the newer model (g05) from a mechanic point of view let’s jump to it.
BMW X5 Exterior Mods
1. Roof Rack:
Roof racks are a great way to add functionality to your car. If you need more space for luggage or extra items, then a roof rack is the best option for you.
There are many different types of racks available on the market, but I would recommend looking for one that is durable and easy to install as it will save you time and frustration in the long run.
Not to mention the fact that the roof rack will add to the already impressive Aesthetics of your BMW X5
2. Low Profile Light Bar:
A light bar is a great way to add some style and function to your BMW X5. It will help you see better at night and can also be used for off-roading purposes.
As a mechanic, I am a huge fan of light bars because they can be used in many applications. They are extremely versatile and will last you a long time if you take care of them properly.
I recommend going with a light bar that has LED lights, as they are brighter and more energy efficient than incandescent bulbs.
3. Aftermarket Sound Exhaust:
A great way to improve the sound of your BMW X5 is with an aftermarket exhaust.
There are many different types of exhaust systems available, so it’s important that you try them out in person before deciding which one fits your needs best.
Some people prefer the classic look and low rumble of a single-pipe system, while others love the loud growl from larger turbos and dual pipes.
One of the most praised exhaust systems by other BMW X5 owners is Hamann exhaust . This is a company that specializes in custom exhausts for BMW vehicles, and they have several different options available.
If you don’t want your X5 to loud all the time then you can opt for a switchable system that allows you to switch between a quiet and loud exhaust.
This is especially useful if you want to drive around town without disturbing your neighbors, but still enjoy the rumble of your car when you take it out on the highway.
4. Wrap:
If you want to give your BMW X5 a unique look, then you should consider getting the body wrapped in matte black.
This is one of the most popular ways to customize your vehicle because it provides a sleek, stylish appearance that many people love.
It’s also very durable and requires little maintenance compared to other types of paint finishes. What I mostly like about a Wrap is the fact that you can take it off and put it back on whenever you want.
This means that if you don’t like the way your BMW looks, then all you need to do is take it off and get a new one.
5. BMW X5 Window Tint
Window tint can be a great way to protect your interior from the sun’s heat, glare, and UV rays.
It will also help keep your car cooler during hot summer days while also reducing energy costs because you won’t have to run the air conditioner as often. Other than Privacy and UV rays protection a tint will a luxurious and cool look to your X5.
As an Experienced Motor Mechanic, I recommended that you don’t go below 35% for your privacy needs and also for resale value.
A good BMW X5 window tint should protect your interior from the sun’s heat, glare, and UV rays while providing excellent visibility through the glass.
You’ll also enjoy a luxurious look that makes your car stand out from all of those other vehicles on the road.
6. M Coloured Kidney Grill Inserts:
If you want to change the look of your X5, you might consider adding M-Coloured grill inserts. These come in BMW M colors (Blue, Red, and white) and will really change the look of your X5.
BMW X5 Interior Mods
1. Rear Cargo Floor Mats
Another interior mod for your X5 is a rear cargo floor mat. If you have kids or pets that travel in your X5, you might want to consider a set of these mats.
They’ll protect the carpeting in the back of your SUV from spills, stains, and dirt that can be tracked into the vehicle.
2. All-Weather Floor Mats:
If you spend a lot of time outside in your X5, you might want to consider all-weather floor mats. These mats will protect the interior carpeting from dirt, mud, and water that can be tracked into the vehicle from walking on wet surfaces.
3. Seat Covers:
You might consider seat covers if you want to protect the leather seats in your X5. These come in a variety of styles and colors and will help guard against wear and tear while adding some style to your vehicle. One thing I like about seat covers is that they can be easily removed when you want to clean the seats.
4. Carbon Fiber Center Armrest Cover
If you want to add some carbon fiber accents to your X5, you might consider a carbon fiber center armrest cover. This can be installed in place of the standard black center armrest and will really change the look of your vehicle.
My Overall Thoughts
Mods are a great way to change the look and feel of your vehicle. They can be a lot of fun to install, but make sure that you are careful not to damage any of your X5’s interior components while doing so. I have ensured that non of these modifications can void the warranty.
